PCI-D240-HS Circuit Card


The PCI-D240-HS is a multi-purpose interface for linking Ampex DCRsi and DIS tape drives to the peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus on IBM-compatible personal computers and UNIX Workstations. The PCI-D240-HS includes device drivers and software that allow you to immediately read and write data to and from your Ampex DCRsi or DIS Recorder.

High-speed 32-bit bus master transfers in burst mode of up to 133 Mbytes/second across the PCI local bus.

Exceeds the capability of most PC disk drives.

Maximized throughput with the use of dual FIFOs.

Occupies one PCI slot and one additional backplane slot without interfering with other boards in the system.

Socketed I/O devices for ease of field repairs.

Uses standard Ampex-format 37-pin D connectors.

PCI Comprehensive GUI With the PCI-D240-HS Windows NT Software, monitoring and controlling your tape drive is a simple matter of pointing and clicking on the relevant menu option or button. One concise screen lets you view all critical status information. User tape position, data location, performance indicators, and error messages are clearly shown. Easily accessible pull-down menus provide immediate access to additional information. Standard Windows file menu functions are utilized for transferring data to and from the DCRsi.
